Virginia’s winning streak came to a halting stop in a 34-9 loss to the No. 11 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
The Cavaliers were on their usual October run under Al Groh coming into the game, having not lost yet.
Virginia had upset on their minds, and that hope was still alive at halftime with the Cavaliers only trailing by a touchdown.
However, Virginia gave up 21 points in the second half and managed just a field goal in the fourth quarter.
Even with the loss, Virginia remains in contention in the ACC’s Coastal Division.

The Virginia Cavaliers used a big turnover to spur a second half rally and propel them to a 20-9 victory over the Maryland Terrapins.
Trailing 9-3, the Cavaliers intercepted a Chris Turner pass and returned it for a touchdown for the game-winning score.
From there, Virginia tacked on another touchdown and a field goal to put the game out of reach.
The win just adds on to what has been a fabulous month for the Cavaliers during Al Groh’s tenure as head coach.
If he could somehow find a way to get the team off to a quicker start, he might be onto something.
